Man City told to complete Tijjani Reijnders signing – fans hail ‘great deal’

Man City fans are urging the club to push through a deal for Tijjani Reijnders following a fresh update on how much the midfielder could cost.

Man City are set for a summer of change, with several high-profile exits expected and key positions needing urgent reinforcements.

One of the biggest departures will be Kevin De Bruyne, who has confirmed he will leave the club, leaving a sizeable gap in midfield that needs to be filled.

Man City’s initial pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz has hit a stumbling block, with the potential fee expected to soar well over £100 million—causing the hierarchy to reconsider their options.

That shift in focus now appears to have led them to AC Milan star Reijnders. Football Insider revealed Man City are closing in on a move for the Reijnders ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

With news that the club have cooled their interest in Wirtz, there had been a dip in optimism among supporters—but the latest update regarding Reijnders has reignited excitement among the fanbase.

AC Milan set £55m asking price for Man City target Tijjani Reijnders

Paul Joyce of The Times revealed that AC Milan midfielder Reijnders could be available for “about £55 million” this summer.

That figure falls just short of the club’s record sale which was Kaka’s £56 million move to Real Madrid, suggesting the cost of securing Reijnders may not be as high as initially feared.

Despite that, Man City have spent heavily in recent windows, bringing in the likes of Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez and Abdukodir Khusanov in January. As a result, there are growing suggestions the club may need to balance the books.

Football Insider previously reported in March that Manchester City may need to sell players to make space for Reijnders, both in the squad and financially, as they continue reshaping their midfield.

Man City fans urge club to complete Tijjani Reijnders deal after Wirtz setback

Man City have held long-standing interest in Reijnders, and even though the 26-year-old signed a new contract earlier this year, there’s growing belief he could be prised away.

AC Milan currently sit ninth in Serie A and with Champions League qualification looking unlikely, that could pave the way for a summer exit.

With City recently cooling their interest in Wirtz due to his substantial price tag, supporters are eager to see the club move swiftly for Reijnders, especially considering the more affordable fee being discussed.

One fan wrote: “Pay it please, it’s a steal” while another urged director of football Hugo Viana, saying: “Just bring the cheque book, Hugo.”
