Man City told to sell Raheem Sterling after ‘strange’ update – pundit
Man City should cash in on Raheem Sterling if Real Madrid make a suitable offer this summer.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the England international’s future.
On Tuesday (31 May) The Times reported Real Madrid are ramping up interest in Sterling, 27.

It is also claimed the attacker will meet with City executives after the international break to decide whether to extend his contract or move to another club.
The attacker is out of contract in the summer of 2023, last signing a deal in November 2018.
When asked if Man City should cash in on Sterling if a suitable offer arrives, McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild, “I would think so. There are big game-changers at Man City now.
“I don’t know if he is surplus to requirements. He is a good player. He would like it in Madrid because there are great players around him there.
“He would be a great player over there. It’s a strange one, I’m not too sure. Going to Real Madrid? It would be a good move for him.
“They are on the crest of a wave now after winning the Champions League.”

Sterling made 47 appearances during the 2021-22 season, scoring 17 goals and providing nine assists.
He has made 339 total appearances for the club since joining from Liverpool in the summer of 2015.
