Man City ‘well placed to agree signing of uncoachable sensation’

Man City and Tottenham are among the frontrunners to sign Southampton sensation Tyler Dibling when the Saints’ inevitable relegation is confirmed.

Football Insider revealed on 27 March that Spurs are in pole position to sign Dibling, 19, after holding preliminary talks over a potential deal.

The Telegraph have reported (26 March) that Southampton chiefs have placed a £100million price tag on the winger.

Newcastle, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are also keen on a potential deal for the England Under-21 international.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has had his say on Man City sealing a cut-price deal for Dibling this summer.

Man City could land Dibling for ‘£60m plus add-ons’, says Wyness

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness claimed a bid of £60million plus add-ons could be enough for City to land the “uncoachable” talent.

Dibling has wowed onlookers with his ability to beat players with pace and skill since breaking into the Southampton first-team.

Wyness claimed the Saints will be hoping for an “auction” for their winger sensation this summer.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think £100million is a bit too high, but I get it.

“This is the club talking him up. The one thing you could say, is that there have been well over 10 clubs showing interest in Dibling.

“If you get an auction going, it could be interesting.

“I go back to my time with Wayne Rooney at Everton, we were desperately trying to get an auction going – but we couldn’t. We had to end up with a £28million deal in 2004, which was pretty good at the time.

“If there is an auction for Dibling, then at 19 he is at a prime age.

“He’s got talent which has been described as uncoachable. You can’t coach his pace and skill to get out of very tight spots.

“He’s been the bright spot for Southampton and has caught the eye.

“I personally think £60million could be enough to get him for Man City.

“You’ve got to believe he could be worth £120-130million in the future if he does well.

“£60million plus bonuses would give Southampton enough to refresh the squad and give them a good chance of coming back up.”

Reijnders could be De Bruyne replacement for Man City

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on Sunday (30 March) that Tijjani Reijnders will only sign for Man City this summer if they can free up space in their squad and shell out a £50million transfer fee.

Mateo Kovacic and Bernardo Silva could join De Bruyne in heading for the exit door with Guardiola’s side needing to free up space in their squad.

AC Milan star Reijnders is seen as a player who would fit seamlessly into City’s midfield and provide the energy and creativity they’ve lacked this season.
