Man City’s Jack Grealish shares ‘so good’ update amid Newcastle transfer latest

Jack Grealish has shared an update away from Man City as rumours continue to swirl around the winger’s future in the Premier League.

The 29-year-old was given permission to remain at home while Pep Guardiola‘s side jetted out to the Club World Cup in America, with the hope of finding a new club this summer.

A transfer has yet to materialise for the talented winger, though several teams are said to be interested ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, and Eddie Howe‘s side are reportedly one of them.

Mick Brown told Football Insider last month that Newcastle United are keeping an eye on Grealish’s situation, but also remain interested in other targets from across the Premier League.

After missing out on deals for Joao Pedro, Jarell Quansah, and likely Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, Newcastle are finally closing in on a deal for Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest.

While this could change the Magpies’ thinking for the rest of the summer transfer window, the club are still likely to keep an eye on the England international after his latest fitness update.

Jack Grealish enjoys downtime away from Man City

Taking to Instagram stories (8 July), Grealish wrote: “4k morning run along the beach. So good,” with running and run emojis, clearly enjoying time away from the Etihad Stadium.

Man City exodus awaits for Pep Guardiola

Football Insider verdict

Almost all Premier League teams have been linked with a move for the exit-linked winger, and an Aston Villa return seems to be one of the favoured moves for Grealish this summer.

He will not be the only player whose future is up in the air over the coming weeks, however, with Ilkay Gundogan, Nico Gonzalez, Kalvin Phillips, and James McAtee all possibly leaving.

Considering how frustrated supporters were with the manager and players last season, Guardiola has acted quickly to address any concerns ahead of next season, but the whispers remain.

Despite adding Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders, and Rayan Ait-Nouri to the squad, City only reached the round of 16 of the Club World Cup before being knocked out by Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

Fans will be desperate for more silverware next term, especially if it means beating Liverpool and Arsenal to the Premier League title, and any others to the Champions League trophy.
