Man City’s Rodri has been charged, but he is everything that Arsenal lack in the title race

Rodri has just signified everything that Arsenal are missing as Man City close in on another Premier League comeback title.

Pep Guardiola has plenty of experience when it comes to beating his rivals to the league title in England, having beaten the Gunners and Liverpool several times since his arrival in 2016.

At one point this season, Mikel Arteta‘s side had stormed into a nine-point lead at the top of the league standings, with City even being pushed down to third by Aston Villa.

However, with 12 games of the campaign remaining, the two sides are separated by just four points, which could have been reduced further had Brentford taken their chances on Thursday, 12 February.

Mikel Arteta’s squad are lacking a Premier League-winning mentality

The Premier League title race has been anything but simple so far, though.

At the Etihad Stadium, some refereeing decisions have not gone down well, with Rodri lashing out publicly after the Citizens drew 2-2 with Tottenham.

Supporters were adamant that Dominic Solanke’s first goal should have been ruled out for a foul on Marc Guehi, and so too was Rodri, and Rob Jones was accused of not being “neutral”.

It is not clear exactly how the Ballon d’Or-winning midfielder will be punished by the FA for his comments, with the player being given the chance to respond to the charges.

What is clear, though, is that Rodri is ready to give absolutely everything to topple the Gunners.

Pep Guardiola and Rodri are about to lead Man City to more success

That is exactly what Arteta is missing, and it could cost him the Premier League title once again.

Rodri, alongside other experienced voices in Guardiola’s squad, has passion, drive, commitment and the right mentality to keep fighting right until the end, even when everything looks lost.

The majority of fans, at least on social media, had already given up on the idea of Man City lifting the league title this season, but with 12 games left to go, the North London side are beginning to sweat.

Man City are hot on Arsenal‘s heels, and with the emotion and determination shown by Rodri, it would not be a surprise to see the Citizens land at the top spot once May rolls around.
