Man United ace Bruno Fernandes sends message to Nelson Semedo after fall-out
Man United star Bruno Fernandes has congratulated Nelson Semedo after he was named the new Wolves captain.
Mario Lemina was stripped of the Wolves captaincy after an on-field bust-up with Jarrod Bowen as well as his own coach Shaun Derry after their 2-1 Premier League defeat to West Ham in the previous round of fixtures.
Semedo, 31, has since been given the responsibility by incumbent manager Gary O’Neil in their ongoing battle to avoid relegation.
The defender has been key to O’Neil’s plans so far this season, starting 13 of his 14 games across all competitions, and providing two assists in 1154 minutes of action.
Wolves face fellow strugglers Ipswich in a potential ‘six-pointer’ on Saturday (December 14), sitting in 19th with just nine points from their opening 15 league games.

Fernandes, 30, has been the Man United captain since July 2023, taking the responsibility from Harry Maguire due to the defender’s poor run of form.
The attacking midfielder has once again been integral for his club this season, starting 22 of his 23 games across all competitions, scoring five goals, and providing 10 assists in 1901 minutes of action.
Delighted for his Portugal teammate, Fernandes took to Instagram to congratulate Semedo on becoming the new Wolves captain.

Fernandes will have to be at his best as United take on bitter local rivals Man City on Sunday (December 15) with both clubs hoping to overcome a poor run of form.
Ruben Amorim’s side currently sit in 13th with 19 points from their 15 games after a frustrating 3-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the previous round of fixtures.
