Man United agree new manager ‘contingency plan’ after sack talks – sources
Man United chiefs have already drawn up a new manager “contingency plan” in case they have to sack Erik ten Hag soon, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (14 October) that United will dismiss the Dutchman if the club lose their next two fixtures against Brentford and Fenerbahce.
It is believed that United chiefs are still keen to stick by Ten hag but will have no alternative but to sack him if the club’s poor run of results continue in the next fortnight.
High-level United officials met in London last week to discuss Ten Hag’s future and have put in a contingency plan in the event of his potential sacking.
He has managed to stave off any immediate threat by leading the club to draws against Porto and Aston Villa before the international break.
However, Man United are 14th in the Premier League and have picked up just two points from a possible six in the Europa League.
Man United have Ten Hag plan in place after London summit
Graham Potter, Thomas Tuchel and Gareth Southgate have been mentioned as among the potential frontrunners to succeed Ten Hag at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman has won the League Cup and FA Cup in his first two seasons at the club but oversaw lacklustre finishes in the Premier League and Champions League last term.

Ten Hag has also been crucial in bringing multiple ex-Ajax stars, including Antony, Andre Onana, Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt, to Old Trafford.
United host Brentford on Saturday (19 October) before travelling to Turkey to face Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce next week (24 October).
