Man United and Liverpool race to sign Antonee Robinson – Insider

Fulham star Antonee Robinson has attracted interest from the likes of Man United and Liverpool after his excellent start to the season.

This is according to former Man United, West Ham and Aston Villa scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, exclusively told Football Insider that the left-back is a “leading candidate” for a number of clubs.

Robinson, 27, has been a crucial part of Marco Silva’s side who currently sit seventh in the Premier League after winning five of their first 11 games.

The left-back has played every minute of every league game so far, and the consistency of his performances have attracted some high-profile interest.

Liverpool and Man United are both said to be targeting him as a potential option to bolster their squads at left-back amid uncertainty over Andy Robertson and Luke Shaw respectively.

This comes after Football Insider revealed in September that the Reds have been eyeing Robinson ahead of a potential January transfer deal.

However, Brown has insisted they are not the only clubs who have been keeping tabs on his progress, but Fulham are reluctant to see him leave.

Both clubs are at the early stages of their interest and are expected to continue monitoring his performances before deciding whether to make a formal offer.

Brown, who has a wealth of experience in player recruitment at the top level and spent over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, explained that any deal would be more likely to take place in the summer of 2025.

I think Robinson is a really good player,” he told Football Insider.

“If ever there was an example of a player who has improved, it’s him. There were big questions at one stage about his defensive abilities.

“But he’s improved in that department and he’s so dangerous going forward.

“After his form so far this season, I’ve heard there are a few clubs keeping tabs on him.

“Some of the top clubs in the Premier League have been watching him for a while, but the way he’s playing at the moment, that interest has grown.

“I’d count Man United and Liverpool among them. Whether they’ll make a move or not, I’m not sure, but they’re among the clubs tracking him.

“From what I hear, Fulham won’t let him leave in January anyway, so if it happens it won’t be until the end of the season.”
