Man United and Liverpool tipped to enter Murillo ‘bidding war’ – sources
Man United and Liverpool could become involved in a “bidding war” for Nottingham Forest star Murillo this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Forest will value the Brazilian defender at £40million but will want a bidding war with multiple clubs interested.
Forest are expected to sell a number of first-team stars this summer in order to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Murillo is on the list of players who could depart City Ground amid interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and European clubs.
The 21-year-old signed for Forest for a £15million fee last summer and enjoyed a stellar debut campaign under Nuno Espirito Santo with 32 league appearances in 2023-24.
Nottingham Forest want £40m+ bidding war between Man United and Liverpool
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, O’Rourke said: “I think Forest will want £40million-plus for Murillo, maybe more.
“He had a good season and enhanced his reputation at Forest.
“Murillo has been linked with Manchester United, PSG, Liverpool and others – I’m told there is interest.

“So I’m sure Forest, if they were to sell Murillo, will want a bit of a bidding war between those sides for his signature – all of those clubs have registered interest.
“I think in the going market they will be looking at £40million as a reasonable fee.“
