Man United and Tottenham ‘make concrete moves for winter Malik Tillman transfer’

Man United and Tottenham are among clubs to have made “concrete” advances over a deal for Malik Tillman ahead of the January transfer window, according to a report from Sky Germany.

The attacker has been in impressive form for PSV Eindhoven this season with eight goals and four assists in 19 appearances in all competitions, with Aston Villa also in the race.

That form has led to interest from elsewhere, with the Red Devils, Spurs and Villa all thought to be among the clubs who have already put enquiries in over a January move for the 22-year-old.

Despite that, a clause in his deal that will see him become available for €30-40million [£25-£33m] is not expected to become active until next summer.

Tillman himself is said to have a “major goal” of playing in the Premier League and, having joined PSV from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023, a return to the German giants is not expected to happen, despite a buy-back clause in his contract.

Aston Villa to compete with Man United and Tottenham

It is perhaps no surprise that these links with Tillman are starting to emerge, given the impressive form he is producing in the Eredivisie and Champions League for PSV this season.

He is showing he can get goals at a high level, which is something Man United are clearly looking for given their struggles in front of goal this season.

Aston Villa have also endured a dip in form recently, so could benefit from some extra attacking firepower as well, with the goals not flowing as much in the past few games.

Man United, Aston Villa and Tottenham are all being linked with former Rangers loanee Malik Tillman.

Tottenham meanwhile, may also need some attacking reinforcements given the long-term layoff that Richarlison is facing through injury.

All of these clubs could benefit from Tillman if they sign him. While they may want for that clause to come into play in the summer, it could be a risk to wait that long if another team makes a move in January.

It will therefore be interesting to see if this develops into a battle for the PSV man’s services between the Premier League trio in January, especially if the American himself is hoping to make a switch to England.
