Man United backed for full takeover soon after confirmed news – pundit

Frank McAvennie has insisted Man United needs new ownership as soon as possible.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker slammed the Glazer family for making “mistake after mistake” during their time owning the Red Devils.

Back in November the Glazers announced that they were open to external parties taking a stake in the club or buying it outright.

Man United

It has been confirmed that Britain’s richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe has officially registered his interest in a majority takeover of Man United.

It is reported that the owners’ current valuation of the club sits at around £7billion, dwarfing the £2.5bn paid for Chelsea last year.

Now, according to the Daily Mail (24 January), it seems United’s search for investment is likely to result in a full sale of the club but the owners remain open to other options.

When asked if a full sale is the best option for the club, McAvennie told Football Insider:I do not think there is anyone who does not want that family out.

From the supporters right through to the players I do not think there is anyone. They have made shambles after shambles after shambles, mistake after mistake after mistake.

It is smoke and mirrors, they have not done anything.

Man United

I think Ratcliffe is no fool, he will not pay over the top for it. I think he is a Man United supporter, what a result that is.

He has got more money than sense but if you are going to buy a club Man United is certainly the club to buy.
