Man United backed to agree £100m Harry Kane deal amid ‘huge’ claim – pundit

Alan Hutton is hopeful Man United will meet the asking price of Tottenham for Harry Kane.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and Aston Villa defender insisted United need a player to score “25-plus” goals per season.

On 4 March, sources told this site that the Lilywhites have placed a £100million price tag on the 29-year-old ahead of the summer window.

The England international has been on United’s radar as Erik ten Hag looks to bring a new striker to Old Trafford for next season.

Spurs aren’t willing to listen to offers that fall below their massive asking price, even though he has just over a year left on his current deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Chairman Daniel Levy is said to be unwilling to budge from his asking price as he remains set on keeping Kane beyond the end of his current contract.

On 25 February, Football Insider revealed that the London club have opened talks with the striker over a new deal.

When asked if United will be willing to fork out for the forward, Hutton told Football Insider:I think the fans would hope so.

Man United

To move forward and really compete at the top end they need that focal point that is going to score 25-plus goals a season.

Harry Kane can definitely do that, we have seen him do it in the Tottenham side for a number of years now. The likes of [Victor] Osimhen and other players that are getting banded about, they are going to be huge money as well.
