Man United coaches have devised Willy Kambwala plan for next season – sources
Man United coaches and staff were hugely impressed with Willy Kambwala’s display in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool on Sunday (7 April), sources have told Football Insider.
The 19-year-old was making his second Premier League start after injuries to Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof, Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw.
Kambwala has made eight total senior appearances for Man United so far in the 2023-24 campaign.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Red Devils chiefs feel he has “huge” potential after breaking into the first-team setup this season.
Sources say the defender is set to be involved more regularly next season.
Kambwala set for ‘huge’ Man United promotion after Liverpool display
Raphael Varane’s exit could facilitate a promotion for Kambwala, with Football Insider revealing on Monday (8 April) that the ex-Real Madrid star will leave on a free transfer this summer after new talks behind the scenes.
Kambwala, who previously started in the Premier League against West Ham in December, impressed alongside ex-captain Harry Maguire against Liverpool.
He won three of his four duels, made one interception and thrilled fans with a crucial tackle on Reds forward Darwin Nunez (as per Sofascore).

The 6ft 4in sensation, who is under contract at Old Trafford until June 2025, joined Man United’s academy from French club Sochaux in 2020.
He is primarily a centre-back but can also play as a right-back.
