Man United could accept ‘crazy’ offer after stunning reveal – Stefan Borson

Manchester United wouldn’t agree to do a behind-the-scenes documentary unless they were offered “crazy” money by any interested parties.

That is the view of former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider it would probably take a fee of around £20million for such a project to get the go ahead at Old Trafford.

The Sun reported on 6 October Man United have been swamped with offers to make a behind-the-scenes documentary as Sir Jim Ratcliffe looks to turn the club’s fortunes around.

The newspaper claimed several production companies have made approaches on behalf of streaming platforms Netflix, Amazon and Disney+.

Ratcliffe has made a wave of changes since taking over control of footballing matters at Old Trafford after purchasing a 27.7 per cent stake in the club earlier this year.

Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle United have all made documentaries with Amazon in recent years, while Liverpool are in the process of selling a series on Jurgen Klopp’s final six months at Anfield.

Man United unlikely to make documentary after Old Trafford issues

But Borson insisted United are not currently in a position to make such a documentary following their on-field struggles under Erik ten Hag.

He told Football Insider: “I just don’t think they will do it, will they?

“I think it’s fun for a club that feel like they are well run to do that kind of documentary, where you have got stability, where you don’t think you are going to sack a manager.

“But I think where there is clearly an issue on and off the pitch, I don’t think there is any way they would do a documentary unless they were offered just a crazy amount of money.

“Clearly, if you are offered maybe £20million to do it, maybe you would think about doing it.

“But, otherwise, it’s just not good for the brand.

“It’s going to be a documentary that shows a level of chaos, upheaval, management problems, there is redundancies in the background and loads of change.

“I don’t think it’s very likely right now.”
