Man United could complete 'brilliant' Darwin Nunez signing after scout report - Robinson

Paul Robinson has heaped praise on Man United and Liverpool target Darwin Nunez.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one was “impressed” by 22-year-old’s performance for Benfica against Liverpool on Tuesday night.

Nunez scored in a 3-1 loss to Jurgen Klopp’s side at the Estadio da Luz in the first leg of their Champions League quarter final clash.

According to the Express‘ Ryan Taylor (6 April), scouts from Man United were in attendance on Tuesday night to run the rule over the Uruguay international.

Football Insider revealed on 26 February that Liverpool are also closely monitoring Nunez, who has just over three years on his current contract.

Robinson believes the centre-forward is ready for a move to the Premier League.

“I was impressed with him against Liverpool,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“He’s been brilliant all season. He’s one of Europe’s top young strikers.

“I have no doubt that he will be in the Premier League soon.

“He does go over a bit easily and is a bit theatrical but that will come out of his game when he gets older and more mature. If he goes into a dressing room full of characters, under a different manager that would come out of his game.

“I think he’d develop into an even better player if he came to the Premier League.”

Nunez has been one of the standout players in Portugal this season.

He has contributed 28 goals and three assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.
