Man United could have the Marcus Rashford swap deal ‘they’ve been crying out for’ as Barcelona lose out
PSG’s interest in Marcus Rashford could put a permanent move to Barcelona at the end of the season in doubt.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who thinks Rashford may consider the chance to join the French club.
Barcelona hold a permanent option to buy Rashford, who is on loan to the Spanish giants from Man United for the season.
Rashford pushed to join Barcelona in the summer transfer window, and the 28-year-old is keen to remain at the La Liga side past the duration of his loan spell.
Marcus Rashford could have head turned by PSG interest
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has given his verdict on PSG’s pursuit of Rashford, which could involve Bradley Barcola joining Man United in a deal.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness still expects Rashford to remain at Barcelona.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think he had six goals and eight assists, I think, in 17 games. So he’s actually performed quite well at Barcelona. He seems to be enjoying his football. He’s certainly back fit and working hard.
“He scored some important goals as well, in the Champions League as well. So, there’s interest and I think PSG do need a Rashford type player. And I think that sort of player swap would definitely be of more interest to United. I think Barcola could turn out to be a good asset coming in.
“So it’s one to watch. But I think the players, and he’s shown before that he is pretty strong-headed and if he wants to go to Barcelona, he’s going to try and make it happen. But as I say, this one may just turn his head slightly as PSG is not the worst option, but I do expect him to stay at Barcelona.“

Rashford could take pay cut
Rashford is not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans at Man United, and the forward is expected to never play for the Premier League club again.
In order to facilitate a permanent move away from Old Trafford next summer, Rashford may take a pay cut to join Barcelona.
Man United would receive a PSR boost from any sale, and hand Amorim greater funds to sign the players he wants to be part of his squad.
