‘Man United could now agree £30m Marcus Rashford deal – he’s going to move’

Manchester United could accept offers in the region of £35million this summer to get Marcus Rashford off their books.

Rashford looks certain to leave United this summer, as he doesn’t feature in the plans of manager Ruben Amorim.

The 27-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, but the Midlands giants opted against making the deal permanent.

Barcelona and Bayern Munich have both been linked with the England international, but the pair have their doubts regarding his recent form.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that Man United will have to accept cut-price offers to get rid of Rashford.

‘Rashford not good enough for Barcelona’

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness questioned whether Rashford is good enough to make a move to Barcelona, considering his performance level over the past few years.

Last season, the attacker scored six goals and picked up four assists in the Premier League, across spells at first Man United and then Aston Villa.

Wyness added that the Red Devils have to end the “poisonous relationship” this summer.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “He’s going to have to move away from Old Trafford there’s no doubt. That relationship has been damaged along with so many other players. There have been poisonous relationships all over the place.

Is it possible for both Bayern or Barcelona? Of course, it is possible but I don’t think it’ll be at the price tag Man United are looking for, because I think both clubs will view him as a risk.

“You’re going to be looking possibly around that £30m-£35m mark or some sort of similar structure to get it done, but it’s whether those clubs take that risk on him right now.

“If he did go to either Bayern or Barcelona, then he’s really going to have to knuckle down and perform. I know he would love to be at Barcelona, but is he that good? We’ve got to see if he can perform at that level.

“Bayern, I think he’s probably got a better chance of executing, but I just don’t know if he’s going to settle that well in Germany.

“It’s proven that there have been domestic issues around him that have been the issue and in Germany, they’re going to be hounding him about his private life and so it’s going to be difficult for him.”

Man United step up interest in Brazilian keeper

Meanwhile, Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Manchester United are stepping up their interest in Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor as they look to bolster their goalkeeping options.

Victor has a release clause of £6 million ($8m) for his sale, following an agreement with Botafogo owner John Textor.

He is in line for a call-up to the next Brazil squad by former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti as a reward for his outstanding form.

The athletic shot-stopper excelled for Botafogo at this summer’s Club World Cup with several eye-catching performances.
