Man United could sign Romelu Lukaku 2.0 after £76m report – pundit
Man United should think twice before spending big money on AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham, according to Kevin Phillips.
The 2000 European Golden Shoe winner, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, fears the 24-year-old would endure similar struggles to Romelu Lukaku if he returned to the Premier League.
Man United are on the hunt for a striker with Edinson Cavani set to exit and Cristiano Ronaldo’s future far from certain.

According to Corriere della Sera, via the Express (30 March), the Red Devils are interested in signing AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham.
It is reported that United would be willing to splash £76million to land the ex-Chelsea centre-forward, who has four years left on his contract in Rome.
When asked if Abraham would be a welcome addition at Old Trafford, Phillips told Football Insider: “I’m not sure for that sort of money.
“Credit to the player for going over to Italy and take the challenge on. He is doing well and is scoring goals.
“We saw Lukaku do something similar when he left Man United to go to Inter Milan. He came back as a £100million player but that has not worked. That has not been the great success that we all thought it would be.

“I fear it would be a similar scenario with Abraham, to be honest. The football over there is nowhere near as competitive or as good as it is in the Premier League.
“Tammy found it hard at times when he was here. I’d be very cautious to spend that kind of money on him.”
