Ruben Neves to Man United: ‘Bids go in’ after dramatic twist
Man United could be handed a boost in their pursuit of Ruben Neves due to uncertainty in Saudi Arabia.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, amid increasing takeover movement in Saudi football.
Man United could sign Neves for £15million in January, with manager Ruben Amorim looking to add a new midfielder to his squad.
Newcastle and Tottenham are also in the race for Neves, who has spent the last two years in Saudi after leaving Wolves.
Man United given positive news in Ruben Neves chase
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes changes could be coming to Saudi football which may lead to Neves’ departure from Al-Hilal.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks the Portugal international would be a good signing for Man United.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Now there’s a lot of movement in Saudi Arabia right now around ownership of clubs.
“A lot of bids going in and different things as PIF [Public Investment Fund] looks to get out of the major majority position. A lot of new people coming in, and a lot of shake up in Saudi football that’s not really on the radar over here.
“That may lead to some decisions as well, as a lot of them are looking for younger players and younger talent coming in. But I think Neves could still play a good role for United, and I think he’s the experience and the talent that could work for them at the right price.”

Man United could sell star amid Antoine Semenyo pursuit
Man United could sell Kobbie Mainoo for £40m in their bid to sign Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, who would cost £65m.
Amorim would have to sell a member of his squad to be able to afford Semenyo, and Mainoo has had limited game time at Old Trafford this season.
Semenyo though may have already decided his next destination, with rivals Man City firmly in the running to sign the 25-year-old.
