Kieran Maguire: Man United could rocket beyond £255m amid record-breaking reveal
Man United could potentially further monetise the broadcasting rights for their youth teams.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the recent interest in the Red Devils’ rising stars.
United’s under-18 side beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 to claim an 11th FA Youth Cup title in from of almost 67,500 fans at Old Trafford last Tuesday (11 May).
The club confirmed on Tuesday (17 May) that the attendance was a new record for the competition.
United earned £254.8million in media income in 2020-21.
And Maguire suggests that they could capitalise on the buzz the youth team have generated to extract further broadcast cash.

“It’s a potential revenue stream if the club can monetise the broadcasting rights,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“This was absolutely fantastic for those players. They had the opportunity to perform at Old Trafford in front of a full crowd.
“When clubs get to semi-finals or finals, you can get decent crowds. But it is difficult to expect fans to find the time to watch more football than they already are.
“So, if they are going to further monetise this I expect it would be through broadcasting rather than matchday income.”
United have drawn up plans to add a further 15,000 seats to Old Trafford.
They typically earn around £110m per season through the turnstiles, but analysts argue this figure could be much higher.
