Sources: Man United ’48 hours’ from agreeing landmark Frenkie de Jong deal
Man United are in advanced talks to sign Frenkie de Jong and an agreement is expected in the next 48 hours, Football Insider has learned.
United are confident they are close to a breakthrough in negotiations following new developments this evening.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that the Premier League giants and Barcelona are close to agreeing a ‘huge’ deal worth £64.4million in total.

De Jong, 25, is also keen to join United and kick off the new Erik ten Tag era by becoming the club’s marquee summer signing.
It would be regarded as a huge coup for United if they can get the deal over the line before the start of pre-season.
They have been negotiating the De Jong deal with Barcelona for weeks but the two clubs have previously struggled to agree the fee.
However, United have been encouraged by the Spanish giants’ willingness to sell the player they signed from Ajax three years ago.
Barcelona have been keen to recoup most of the £77m fee they paid to the Dutch club.
Ten Hag is a huge admirer of De Jong and believes he is the perfect fit in midfielder for his new-look club.

The 43-times Holland international is proven at the highest level and was a regular for Barca last season.
He made 30 league starts and six Champions League starts among 46 appearances in all competitions in 2021-22.
