Man United dressing room mutiny on the cards amid ‘£200,000-a-week’ star reveal – pundit
Alan Hutton has claimed the new “Ronaldo rule” at Man United will be “difficult” to implement.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said he experienced a similar situation at Tottenham and said it keeps players under control.
According to the Daily Mail (7 January), the Red Devils have introduced a “Ronaldo rule” to ensure nobody in the dressing room is paid significantly higher than their teammates.

Player salaries will now be capped at £200,000-per-week with goalkeeper David de Gea the first to be impacted.
His current £375,000-a-week deal runs out in the summer and has been given a substantially lower offer in line with the contract signed by Bruno Fernandes last season.
Ten Hag wants to avoid a culture of dressing-room jealousy and pay current players the same rather than splashing out on superstars.
Hutton suggested the new approach is a good one.
“I think it just keeps a cap on it so it does not get out of control,” he told Football Insider.
“I understand how changing rooms work. If you are one of the main players and you see somebody else who is not playing as much getting a better wage than you, there is going to come a time where conflict arises.

“Everybody has to buy into it and what happens to the players that are over that budget at this moment in time? There is a whole lot of stipulations that come along with it.
“I know clubs that already do that, the likes of Tottenham, they rarely go outside that. It is up to the club to implement it but it is obviously difficult to do.“
