James Wilson is set to become the latest victim of the mass Manchester United exodus this summer, Football Insider understands.
The striker, 23, is out of contract at the end of the season and failed to convince the Premier League giants to offer him an extension.
A United source has told Football Insider that the forward, who graduated from their youth-team ranks, has been told he won’t get a new deal and to start looking for a club.
It is a major blow for Wilson, who has failed to live up to expectations since marking his Premier League debut against Hull City in May 2014 with a remarkable double.
The forward has subsequently only scored two more goals for United and has spent much of the last five years out on loan, at Derby County, Sheffield United, Brighton and Hove Albion, and then Aberdeen.
Wilson has just completed a season-long loan north of the border with the Dons, and scored four times as well as supplied three assists from 32 appearances.
There have been suggestions he could make a permanent move to Scotland.
In other Man United news, it can be REVEALED that the 20-times league winners have been blown out of the water by Liverpool after they agreed deal to sign starlet.
