Man United duo 'expected' to follow Martial through exit door after deal agreed - pundit
Paul Robinson has tipped Donny van de Beek and Phil Jones to follow Anthony Martial out of Man United this month.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the Red Devils “need to get” fringe players off their books so their next permanent manager can “rejuvenate the squad.”
As confirmed by Manchester United last night (25 January), Martial has joined Sevilla on loan for the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign.
According to Fabrizio Romano (25 January), the loan deal does not include an option to buy as United are keen for their next permanent manager to decide on Martial’s future.
The France international’s contract at Old Trafford runs until the summer of 2024.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if he expected further exits, Robinson said: “Rangnick is not going to be there long term so it’s difficult.

“Will Manchester United move on players who the next manager might want?
“It has not worked for Donny van de Beek, regardless of how you look at it.
“Phil Jones has been there for a long time and I can’t see him playing regularly for Manchester United now. They are two I’d expect to go.
“United need to get these players out of the club and rejuvenate that playing squad. But to do that they need a permanent manager at the helm.
“An interim manager isn’t the answer. I cannot fathom the thinking behind it.”
