
Man United, Everton, Chelsea: Expected winner named in Liam Delap race
Man United are in pole position to land Ipswich Town star Liam Delap ahead of the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The Red Devils have jumped ahead of their rivals, such as Everton and Chelsea, in the race to land the 22-year-old.
19th-place Ipswich have already been relegated – meaning Delap can leave via a relegation release clause of just £30million when the transfer window opens next month.
Sources say the former Man City striker is keen to make his next step at Old Trafford after impressing in his first Premier League campaign as a senior player.
Delap ready to claim Man United starting spot
It is believed Delap feels he has the chance to make the striker spot his own at United – an opportunity not necessarily available elsewhere.
Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have struggled for goals in the 2024-25 campaign, notching just three and four Premier League strikes respectively.

Meanwhile, Delap has hit 12 top-flight goals for relegated Ipswich in 36 appearances – also adding two assists.
He only joined the Tractor Boys from Man City last summer (2024) after a series of Championship loans.
The England Under-21 international forward has made the step up to the Premier League gracefully and is already set to move on from Portman Road.

Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (13 May) that Bournemouth are ready to hold out for bids of £50-60million for Man United target Antoine Semenyo.
