Man United Exclusive: Ruben Amorim makes £13m Mason Mount decision
Ruben Amorim is still counting on Man United high earner Mason Mount to have a future at the club, sources have told Football Insider.
Mount scored just his second United goal against Brentford on Sunday (4 May) as Amorim’s side went down 4-3 away from home.
The 26-year-old has recently returned from a long-term injury layoff and has been ramping up his involvement.
He is now looking to prove a point to the United boss and hierarchy in the coming weeks with his future at Old Trafford in doubt.
Sources say Mount is well-liked by Amorim – who is keen for the midfielder to have a role to play in his plans for the future.
£250,000-a-week star Mount has Man United future
However, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS chiefs have been ruthless in cutting costs at United and are keen to cut ties with most of the club’s highest-earning players.
Mount is currently on a contract worth £250,000-a-week or £13million per year – with that deal set to run until June 2028.

He cost United an initial fee of £55million, rising to £60million after add-ons, when he joined from Chelsea in 2023.
The England international midfielder has made just 41 appearances for United, scoring two goals and notching one assist.
Mount has missed the majority of this season with two separate hamstring injuries and had a long-term calf injury layoff last season.

Man United to pull Antony U-turn?
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (6 May) that Man United’s on-loan winger Antony will not be given another chance at the club.
The 25-year-old has been with La Liga side Real Betis since January and has regained form and confidence in Seville.
But United have decided to move on from the Brazil international despite his impressive form in Spain and will cash in on the winger this summer.
