Man United fans ‘devastated’ as new Leny Yoro clip drops
Man United fans are devastated after seeing new centre-back signing Leny Yoro having to use crutches on their pre-season tour.
The 18-year-old made the switch from Lille to Man United earlier in the transfer window for £58.9 million after an impressive breakout season at the French club.
It was believed that Champions League winners Real Madrid were the Frenchman’s preferred destination, but United worked hard to persuade the 18-year-old to join after agreeing to a deal.
Yoro put pen to paper on a five-year deal and flew out to the USA to join up with his new teammates for pre-season.
A decent first half against Scottish side Rangers gave United fans a taste of what he could do as they anticipated their next game against Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Unfortunately, Yoro didn’t make it through the first half of the Arsenal game as he was forced off with an as-yet-unspecified injury.
Man United fans fear Leny Yoro’s injury could be worse than first thought
Yoro made 44 appearances for Lille last season, scoring three goals and only missing one game through injury.
Now he looks set to join Man United’s walking-wounded and be out for several weeks as he was spotted walking the streets of LA on crutches.
Man United had the most separate injuries of every Premier League club last season – 45 in total as they limped to an eighth-placed Premier League finish.
The young defender wasn’t the only player injured in that Arsenal game, Rasmus Hojlund was also forced off after opening the scoring in the 10th minute.
