Man United fans: Erik ten Hag faces the sack ‘tonight’
Man United fans are calling for Erik ten Hag to be sacked “tonight” after drawing their opening Europa League fixture v FC Twente.
Ten Hag’s side continued their turbulent start to the season with a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford after Christian Eriksen’s opening goal was cancelled out by a Sam Lammers strike.
Twente shocked many by securing a third-place finish in the Eredivisie last season to qualify for the Europa League, and have continued to stun fans with their latest result.
Senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider on 20 September that Ten Hag remains “one defeat away from a sack crisis” – but it may be a draw that spells an end to his time in Manchester.
Just three victories from eight games so far this season have increased the pressure on the manager’s position, with fans growing impatient for a turn of form.
Their form in Europe is even worse – with just one win in their last nine games.
While sources say the board remain keen to stick by their man after handing him a new contract in the summer, there is a recognition that results must improve.
Football Insider also revealed that the club will turn to Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe should they opt to part ways with Ten Hag.

Many had expected Ten Hag to be dismissed at the end of last season, but a shock victory against Man City in the FA Cup saw him handed another chance.
However, their form in the opening stages of the season has exposed the cracks which the FA Cup success had papered over, and fans’ frustrations continue to grow.
Many have now taken to social media to express their frustrations at the boss, and they are demanding he faces the sack “tonight”.
In other news, Rangers fans were left stunned by Lammers after his goal at Old Trafford.
