Man United fans excited by ‘great news’ about Mike Maignan transfer
Man United were dumped out of the FA Cup on Sunday (2 March) after a penalty shootout where Andre Onana failed to save a single shot from Fulham.
Bruno Fernandes had given his team a chance by scoring a 71st-minute equaliser at Old Trafford after Calvin Bassey had given Fulham the lead.
However, the 20-time champions failed to take that opportunity as Victor Lindelof and Joshua Zirkzee missed their penalties in the shootout.
Fulham scored all four of their shots as Onana was unable to come up with any answers to try and help his teammates at that moment.
It means that United are now relying on their Europa League performances to bring some silverware to Old Trafford this season, while they’re still trying desperately to finish above their current 14th Premier League position.
United fans have started to turn in recent weeks with off-field decisions only enhancing their frustration, and many called for Ruben Amroim to be sacked after the defeat to Fulham.

Andre Onana struggled against Fulham
Onana has had a difficult season at Old Trafford that has seen him regularly come under fire from United supporters, who are yet to fully trust him in goal.
Onana was called a “disaster” for the mistake he made against Ipswich earlier this season, while his performance against Fulham saw fans label him a “liability” as he struggled to meet crosses or command his area.
Match Stats | Onana |
Saves | 4 |
Accurate long balls | 7/22 (32%) |
Recoveries | 9 |
Throws | 6 |
Onana struggled with the ball at his feet throughout the game, making just 57 percent of his passes accurate as he failed to start the attacking build-up regularly.

Man United fans want a new goalkeeper
United supporters have made their minds up on Onana and have determined that he is not good enough to be the number one at the club.
That has led to attention turning elsewhere and according to Fichajes, United have identified AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan as their number one target to replace Onana.
The new has been met positively with fans claiming they “like” the report and that “Maignan would’ve been a good replacement for Da Gea” when Onana was originally signed.
