Man United fans fume at confirmed Liverpool news – ‘they are mocking us’

Liverpool are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League and are on course to win a 20th top-flight title to draw level with bitter rivals Man United.

The Reds have pulled out a 31 point, 14 place gap to Ruben Amorim’s side this term with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS coming in for heavy criticism at Old Trafford.

Liverpool confirmed on Monday (17 February) that they will freeze general admission and season ticket prices for the 2025-26 season.

They said the “price freeze comes despite significant increases in Anfield matchday operating costs and continued rises in the cost of football operations in general”.

Man United fans expect ticket prices to ‘go through the roof’ despite Liverpool freeze

Man United, by contrast, have faced protests after raising match ticket prices to £66 and removing concessions for seniors and children.

The Old Trafford faithful pay a minimum of £579 for a season ticket, with the most expensive non-hospitality ticket set at £950.

Liverpool fans pay a minimum of £713 for their season tickets, while the most expensive ticket is set at £904.

Red Devils fans expect their season tickets prices to “go through the roof” for next season – despite being “vastly inferior” to their north-west rivals.

Ratcliffe could demand bigger Man United stake

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on Thursday (13 February) that Sir Jim Ratcliffe could demand more shares in Man United to help fund the Old Trafford regeneration project.

United’s new stadium plans could cost the club more than £2billion as they will be financially responsible for that part of the project.

The club and a stadium regeneration task force are considering plans to either expand Old Trafford or build a new facility altogether.
