Man United fans rage at Ruben Amorim as new Bruno Fernandes footage emerges from Old Trafford: ‘It’s criminal’
Manchester United fans reached boiling point after Monday night’s disappointing draw with Bournemouth.
Despite taking the lead three times throughout the contest, Manchester United stumbled to a 4-4 draw with Bournemouth.
The visitors could have won it, too, with Senne Lammens forced into several late saves in the closing moments.
Ruben Amorim is facing questions after his comments on Monday, with the head coach publicly criticising three Manchester United prospects.
Manchester United fans fumed at Amorim’s comments, which saw him claim Harry Amass is “struggling” at Sheffield Wednesday – despite the defender having been voted player of the month for November.
Manchester United fans explode as telling scene captured
Bruno Fernandes has divided opinion at Manchester United throughout the last five years, but there could be little arguing with the midfielder’s efforts on Monday.
The Portugal international provided the assist for Casemiro‘s header in the first half, and netted a fantastic free-kick to level the scores 13 minutes from time.
The 31-year-old frustrated at times, but ultimately, as is often the case, appeared the only player capable of dragging the Red Devils towards victory.
He was captured in a video posted to social media by Steven Railston after the game, holding his hands on his head in the centre circle and angrily remonstrating with his teammates.
Manchester United fans directed their anger towards Amorim, with one expressing that it is “criminal watching an all-timer have his prime sabotaged by ETH [Erik ten Hag] and Amorim.”
Others shared a similar sentiment, saying that Fernandes “deserves so much better“, and some even telling the midfielder to leave the club in search of a better environment.
Other fans were less sympathetic, with one social media user telling the 31-year-old to “be furious with your manager.”
Another said: “He could say to his fraud of a manager, please don’t play me in midfield because I make it easy for teams to attack & score”.
What did Ruben Amorim say after Bournemouth draw?
Despite Monday’s disappointing draw, Manchester United remain sixth in the Premier League and just two points away from the top four.
A difficult trip to high-flying Aston Villa awaits on Sunday, however, and a loss could see the Red Devils sink as low as 10th.
| Manchester United fixtures | Date |
| Aston Villa (A) | 21 Dec |
| Newcastle United (H) | 26 Dec |
| Wolves (H) | 30 Dec |
| Leeds United (A) | 4 Jan |
| Burnley (A) | 7 Jan |
Amorim was bullish in his comments after the game, and said: “I saw the effort of the players, I saw the effort of the defence, and at the end of the game, you make 4-3, I had the feeling that we would continue to push and score another one.
“We tried but in the end it was a draw. A lot of good things, but a lot of things to work [on]. We are not winning games sometimes in the details.”
But the pressure continues to intensify at Old Trafford for a team who constantly feel just one poor result away from crisis.
