Man United fans rage at ‘snake’ Ruud van Nistelrooy after his confession
Man United fans have taken to social media to express their concern over Ruud van Nistelrooy staying on at the club.
Speaking ahead of their 1-0 Europa League win over PAOK on Thursday (November 7) the 48-year-old admitted he had ambitions of taking the Man United job on a permanent basis.
When asked if he would be interested in becoming manager of the 20-time Premier League champions one day, he said, “Yeah, of course.
“I had clear ambitions to manage. I made the decision to sign a two-year deal as an assistant and I’m still in that frame of mind to stay in that capacity.”
The Dutchman has done a fine job since taking over as interim boss following Erik ten Hag’s dismissal, winning two and drawing one of three games at the helm.
Van Nistelrooy is set to manage his final game on Sunday (November 10) as the club face Leicester City, a team they previously defeated 5-2 in the League Cup in his debut match.
United acted quickly to replace Ten Hag, appointing highly regarded Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim, who is set to take over after the international break.
Man United fans don’t see a future at the club for Ruud van Nistelrooy
Despite steadying the ship after their worst-ever start to a Premier League campaign, voicing his ambitions may not have been a good idea for the former striker.
Man United fans have taken to X, formally known as Twitter, to express their concerns over Van Nistelrooy potentially staying at the club.
