Man United fans react to shock Bryan Mbeumo and Brentford reveal
Brentford players reported back for pre-season training on Monday and all eyes were on whether or not Bryan Mbeumo would be present.
The Cameroon international enjoyed a superb 2024/25 campaign, notching 20 goals and seven assists in 38 Premier League appearances to help the Bees finish 10th.
Of course, that form has seen him heavily linked with a move away from the Gtech Community Stadium, with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur most prominently mentioned.
Man United have emerged as his most likely destination after Spurs completed the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham.

Brentford bait Man United fans with Bryan Mbeumo reveal
Brentford posted a video to their X account on Monday (14 July) showing their players arriving for their first pre-season training session of the summer.
And the last player the club featured in the video was Mbeumo, who is seen walking across the car park. Interestingly, the forward was also used as the thumbnail for the video.
Was this bait from Brentford or a clear message sent to United that they intend to keep hold of their star forward?
That’s anyone’s guess right now, but what is clear is that the post has rattled a number of Man United fans, who couldn’t help but fire back at Brentford and remind them that they intend to poach the 25-year-old.
Man United must act fast to sign Bryan Mbeumo
Football Insider verdict
It’s no secret that Man United endured a miserable 2024/25 campaign.
The Red Devils suffered an embarrassing 15th-place finish in the Premier League, winning just 11 games and picking up 42 points — their lowest tally since 1977/78.
And to top it off, United lost 1-0 to Tottenham in the Europa League final, meaning they ended the campaign trophyless and missed out on European football entirely for 2025/26.
One of the standout deficiencies for the Red Devils was productivity in the final third, with Ruben Amorim’s side scoring just 44 Premier League goals — only Everton and the bottom three had a worse record.

The futures of the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Rasmus Hojlund are all in doubt and even if any of them remain at Old Trafford, they cannot be relied upon.
With that in mind, bringing in players of Mbeumo’s quality — alongside Matheus Cunha, who has already signed from Wolves — is vital.
However, United face a race against time to sign Mbeumo, with Brentford only willing to sell either him or Yoane Wissa, who is courting attention from Spurs — managed by former boss Thomas Frank.
