Man United fans respond to Mason Mount exit news – ‘I’ll help him pack’

Mason Mount is yet to make an impact in a Man United shirt since joining the club from Chelsea in 2023.

He has made just 12 appearances totalling 403 minutes of action across all competitions this term and is on the treatment table with a long-term thigh injury.

Man United paid a potential £60million fee to land the 26-year-old with just 12 months remaining on his contract with Chelsea, where he came through the academy.

Mount was handed the number seven shirt at Old Trafford but has failed to stay fit and make his mark with the Red Devils.

Mason Mount linked with loan-to-buy Inter move

According to Italian outlet InterLive (23 February), Inter Milan are eyeing a loan-to-buy move for Mount in the upcoming summer window.

It is suggested the midfielder’s huge Man United salary could prove an issue for the Nerazzurri in negotiations.

Mount has made just 32 appearances for the Old Trafford club since arriving and has contributed just one goal and one assist.

He is under contract at United until June 2028 after penning a lucrative deal 18 months ago.

Man United fans fume at ‘worst ever signing’

Mount could join the likes of Antony and Marcus Rashford in being shipped out of Man United in initial loan deals as the club bid to cut down on costs and restore profitability.

Some fans have urged their side to get rid, with one even branding the ex-Chelsea star their “worst ever signing”.
