Man United fans: Ruben Amorim ‘must be sacked tonight’ after Fulham defeat
Man United fans are beginning to turn on Ruben Amorim as many are calling for him to be sacked in the wake of their FA Cup defeat v Fulham.
Amorim’s side were eliminated at Old Trafford in the fifth round after goals from Calvin Bassey and Bruno Fernandes sent the tie to extra time and eventually penalties.
Bernd Leno saved consecutive efforts from Victor Lindelof and Joshua Zirkzee to ensure safe passage for his side – but simultaneously ramped up the pressure on Amorim.
Having been ejected from the Carabao Cup earlier this season, with little hope of securing European qualification via the league, United’s ambitions now rest on a Europa League run.
However, sections of the fanbase at Old Trafford have now lost faith in Amorim to deliver the trophy and eventual European qualification which they expect as a minimum.
While there is an acceptance that the manager is having to work with below-standard players, his stubbornness and reluctance to adapt to the situation has left some asking questions.
Since his appointment as Erik ten Hag’s replacement in November, Amorim has led United to just five wins in 16 Premier League games and defeats in both cups.

Pressure growing on Ruben Amorim at Man United
Former United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 21 February that Amorim is coming under pressure at Man United and “serious questions” are being asked.
Having now been eliminated from both domestic cup competitions, his side are sitting 14th in the Premier League – 14 points away from the pre-season expectations of fourth place.
Brown explained that red flags have been raised about the manager’s refusal to adapt to the limitations of his squad and he must show a turnaround both on and off the pitch soon.
Meanwhile, Football Insider shared reports that the Man United players are beginning to lose faith in Amorim’s ability to lead them.
Fans want Ruben Amorim sacked after what they saw v Fulham
This is not the first time fans have called for the manager’s head, as many Man United fans began demanding Amorim be sacked following their 2-2 draw against Everton on 22 February.
Many are still determined to uphold the high standards United were once synonymous with and see Amorim’s failings as taking the club backwards.
After their elimination from the cup against Fulham, supporters have taken to social media to express their frustrations once again.
