Man United fans slaughter ‘terrible’ Andre Onana after latest display
Many Man United fans have fumed over Andre Onana’s “woeful” display in their 3-2 win against Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
The Red Devils mounted a sensational comeback at Old Trafford from 2-0 down after defensive calamities allowed John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker to net in the opening half an hour.
Erik ten Hag’s side came out of the dressing room a different beast and a brace from Alejandro Garnacho and an 82nd-minute winner from Rasmus Hojlund secured them their first win in five games.
Onana has faced fierce scrutiny from fans since his £47.2million summer move from Inter Milan after conceding 43 goals and keeping just eight clean sheets in 27 appearances in all competitions.
His lacklustre form did not make a change for the better against Unai Emery’s Champions League-chasing outfit and he was especially at fault for McGinn’s opener with his poor reaction speed.
The shot-stopper has been critical of himself in regards to his poor performances this campaign and even admitted that United’s 4-3 Champions League loss earlier in the season (20 September) was his fault.
However, his clear passion and honesty in the past have done little to endear him to the Old Trafford faithful and supporters are yet to warm to him after another “awful” outing against the Villans.
Fans have taken to social media to berate their goalkeeper and many want to see him hauled out of the club for good.
