Man United fans stunned by Wayne Rooney’s extraordinary on-air bombshell
Man United fans were left stunned as Wayne Rooney suggested some of the club’s star players are faking injuries because they don’t want to play.
United have struggled with injury issues throughout this season, with the current crisis forcing Erik ten Hag to name a widely rotated team against Arsenal.
Having lost that game 1-0, meaning United have won just one of their last eight games, supporters were fuming.
Casemiro has been filling in at centre-back due to a lack of options and has been slammed for his performances of late, as shared by Football Insider.
Rooney, however, insisted that the injured players “need to want to play” – suggesting they may be exaggerating the severity of their blows.
With the likes of Marcus Rashford, Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial missing, plenty of United fans echoed his statement, questioning who specifically he could mean.
