Man United fans savage Ruben Amorim after Mason Mount development
Man United fans are unconvinced by new manager Ruben Amorim after his recent comments regarding midfielder Mason Mount.
The 25-year-old played just nine minutes under interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy after picking up a head injury in United’s 3-0 Premier League defeat to Tottenham.
Despite joining in 2023, Mount’s United career has yet to take off, with the midfielder making just 29 appearances for the 20-time champions due to recurring injury issues.
With Amorim, 39, now in charge, Mount has the chance to win over hearts and minds, especially with his new manager already expressing his ‘love’ for the midfielder.
Speaking to Man United’s in-house media team, Amorim said, “Mason Mount… I have to tell you I love that kid. You can look in his eyes that he wants this so bad. This is the most important thing.
“He played in this system, so it’s perfect for him… I have two positions for Mason Mount, so he should be very happy.”
Now fully fit, Mount could be set to feature in Amorim’s first game as Man United manager against newly-promoted Ipswich Town on Sunday (November 24).
Mason Mount to be a key Man United player under Ruben Amorim
In theory, the attacking midfielder should fit seamlessly into Amorim’s 3-4-3 system, something that Man United have been working on since the young coach took charge of his first training session on Monday (November 18).
Fans are unconvinced, however, taking to X, formally known as Twitter, to urge their new manager to move on from Mount.
