Man United fans will be pleased as £60m news confirmed – Stefan Borson

Manchester United fans will be pleased after the club have confirmed they will spend £60million on improving their training ground over the next year.

That is the view of former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider Sir Jim Ratcliffe is spending money to improve matters on and off the pitch at Old Trafford.

United’s full-year accounts have revealed they posted a net loss of £113.2million for 2023-24 despite their revenue rising from £648.4million in 2022-23 to a club-record £661.8million last season.

It was also confirmed in the results they will spend up to £60million on redeveloping their Carrington training ground over the next year.

The Manchester giants’ new chief executive Omar Berrada revealed in a statement the club are investing to ensure their men, women and academy teams all “have access to world-class training facilities at a fully renovated Carrington”.

Man United to undergo ‘very big’ training ground project

But Borson believes it will be a “very big” project for United to complete over the next year.

He told Football Insider: “The one thing you can say about Ratcliffe and his team is they are getting on with things.

“They are spending money.

“They announced within the results they are spending £60million on the Carrington training ground in the next year.

“That’s a very big project and a very quick spend.

“We know that they are going to do these things and I think the ground redevelopment will be part of that structure.

“It’s all a sign that there are just things happening, which I think all United fans will probably be quite pleased about.”
