Man United fans wowed by Bruno Fernandes after he steps in to defend teammate
Man United fans have heavily praised Bruno Fernandes’ leadership skills after he publicly defended Alejandro Garnacho after he refused to celebrate his goal against Leicester City.
The 20-year-old scored the final goal of United’s 3-0 win against Leicester City on Sunday (10 November) but opted not to celebrate as his teammates then got around the winger to praise him.
Fernandes could be seen talking to Garnacho afterwards, and he elaborated on the situation during an interview on BBC’s Match of the Day 2.
He said, “Garno scoring a banger and then doesn’t want to celebrate as he should after a goal like that because he feels that he’s lost a little bit of faith from some fans.
“I was telling him after the game there’s going to always be people who moan about [you] when you don’t score, when you don’t assist, when you don’t perform, but there’s a lot of people who like you and want you to succeed.”
The goal was Garnacho’s seventh of the season in all competitions, while he’s also provided four assists in his 18 appearances so far.
Man United have been impressed by Bruno Fernandes leadership qualities
The United captain’s comments about Garnacho’s situation have impressed supporters who claimed he is “exactly” who they want to be leading the team.
