Man United forced into transfer U-turn after striker development
Manchester United are being forced to complete a big transfer U-turn following last weekend’s games, sources have told Football Insider.
Benjamin Sesko was forced off with a knee injury against Tottenham and there are now worries that he could miss an extended period.
Ruben Amorim has previously said that Sesko will be Man United’s first-choice striker for the foreseeable future, putting his faith in the Slovenian despite a poor start to the season.
However, sources say that the Red Devils will have to sign a striker in January if the 22-year-old has sustained a long-term injury.

Man United will face issues in January
Of course, the January transfer window is notoriously difficult to do business in, with clubs unwilling to let their star players leave.
If United are forced to sign a striker, then they may have to settle for an option further down their shortlist.
To make matters worse for Amorim, he will lose Bryan Mbeumo to the African Cup of Nations, leaving the Red Devils with even fewer options up front.
Mbeumo is guaranteed to miss three games in December for Man United, and his leave could carry on until the middle of January if Cameroon progress through the knockout stages.
Man United have alternative option to Benjamin Sesko
However, Man United could put their faith in Joshua Zirkzee to cover for Sesko while he is out of the team.

That is according to former Man United chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that the striker could now be set for an increased role in the side.
Zirkzee is frustrated at Man United and is expected to push to leave the club in the mid-season window amid growing interest from a number of top sides.
However, if he is guaranteed a run of games, then he may be convinced to stay at Old Trafford and prove his worth.
