Man United join Chelsea in race to sign forward who is ‘one of the best in Europe’

Man United and Chelsea are both ramping up their January transfer preparations ahead of a crucial second half of the season.

Both of these Premier League giants are keeping tabs on future transfers with sources telling Football Insider how Chelsea plan to complete the signing of Mike Maignan.

Away from London, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Man United will return for Brighton’s Carlos Baleba after they missed out on him in the summer.

The Red Devils are eyeing up a return to European football this season and must be shrewd with their transfer business.

Kenan Yildiz on Man United and Chelsea’s radar

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, both United and the Blues are in the hunt for the Juventus sensation.

Sources told Football Insider on 16 September that Chelsea are facing an uphill battle to sign Kenan Yildiz.

Seemingly undeterred by the difficulty of bringing in the Turkish international, interest remains higher in the youth prodigy from multiple clubs, including Arsenal.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “I think there’ll be a number of Premier League clubs who would love Kenan Yildiz who’s a top player and Turkey International and has really impressed for Juventus over the last 18 months or so.

“He’s got two goals and four assists in five matches in all competitions so far for Juventus this term. He’s regarded as one of the best young attacking players in Europe right now as well.

“So no surprise that Premier League clubs are looking at him. Chelsea sounded out a potential move in the summer window and now we’ve got supposed interest from Man United and Arsenal.”

Juventus eye up Bernardo Silva in anticipation of Yildiz departure

Juventus are targeting Man City’s Bernardo Silva to sign as a free agent at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old is still one of Pep Guardiola’s key men but no news of a contract extension suggests the club are happy to part with him.

The Portuguese could follow former teammate Kevin De Bruyne by heading to Italy which may suggest that Juventus are bracing for intense interest for their Turkish magician.

La Vecchia Signora will certainly be holding out for a sum in the region of £70million which should be worth it for a player with such a high ceiling.
