Man United make ‘definite’ Jadon Sancho transfer decision

Man United look unlikely to give Jadon Sancho more time at Old Trafford at the end of his loan spell with Aston Villa.

Sources told Football Insider that Man United remain adamant they will not extend Sancho’s contract with the club.

The Englishman does have a clause that could keep him at Old Trafford until the end of the 2026-27 campaign, yet his soaring wages and poor form make that possibility improbable.

His likely departure has caught the attention of European clubs, with sources telling Football Insider that Borussia Dortmund are keen to re-sign Sancho when he becomes a free agent next summer.

Sancho’s options post-Man United dwindling as time has run out for him under Ruben Amorim

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the Red Devils are highly likely to cut their losses on what has been an underwhelming investment.

Sources told Football Insider that Sancho will leave Man United next summer as a free agent with his dire form not convincing Unai Emery of a permanent transfer to Villa.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “I think they’ve upped the possibility of just cutting their losses on Sancho, letting him leave on a free transfer rather than activating that clause and sort of protect their asset by giving him an extra year.

“His time at Old Trafford looks like it’s definitely up. He isn’t going to win his place back in Ruben Amorim‘s plans going forward.

“Again, it’s not been the ideal start for him at Aston Villa as well. He’s not started a Premier League game under Unai Emery and failed to impress Emery.

“So it’s a big few months coming up for Jadon Sancho. If he’s not playing regularly, he might not have as many options as he probably thought in the summer.

“If he does become a free agent, United probably don’t want to saddle themselves with his wages, he’s a big earner and in excess of £200,000 a week.”

Kobbie Mainoo’s Man United career on similar trajectory as Amorim unyielding in letting him leave

The former Borussia Dortmund winger’s United career has been nothing short of a disaster and a fellow teammate could be embarking on a similar path.

Sources told Football Insider that Man United remain unwilling to sell Kobbie Mainoo, despite his constant pleas to leave Old Trafford.

The 20-year-old has failed to start a single match in the Premier League this season and hopes of the 2026 World Cup are slipping further and further away.

The number 37 will be watching Sancho’s career collapse from afar, taking notes of his mistakes as the midfielder carefully plots his next moves.
