‘Man United make Nicolas Jackson transfer decision’ after source’s £80m reveal
Man United are unlikely to take their interest in Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson any further, according to their former chief scout.
Mick Brown, who worked at Old Trafford for over a decade during the club’s most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that Ruben Amorim will prioritise other options on their list of targets.
Jackson, 24, has raised concerns about his consistency and temperament, and United believe there are better value-for-money options in the market.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 22 July that Man United are interested in Jackson, but will only make a move if the price is right for them.
Chelsea are believed to be demanding over £80million to sell the Senegal international this summer, which would price Amorim’s side out of a move.
Football Insider revealed on 7 July that Chelsea are not planning to push Jackson out and want to keep him at the club despite signing Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.

Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson stance revealed amid Man United interest
Brown told Football Insider on 23 June that Jackson could leave Chelsea after they signed his replacement, while they have doubts about his recent performances.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked for the likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa and West Ham, explained that Man United share those doubts and as a result will set their sights on alternatives.
“No, I wouldn’t expect that one to happen,” he told Football Insider.
“I would be very, very surprised if Man United signed Jackson.
“There are concerns about his temperament and the mental side of his game, and I don’t think he’s consistent enough on the pitch to overrule those concerns.
“If Chelsea are looking to get rid of him, that tells you whether he’s good enough for United.
“I don’t think he’s the type of striker they need, and they’ll be looking at their other options.
“Especially when you consider the price it would take to get him out of Chelsea.
“I expect he’s on a long contract there like all of his teammates, so they’re not going to let him go on the cheap, and definitely not to Man United.
“For the money it would take to get him, there are better players they could bring in.
“He hasn’t done anything at Chelsea that would make him the ideal man for United.”

Ruben Amorim sets sights on Benjamin Sesko deal
United’s pursuit of a new striker this summer has been well-documented after they missed out on key targets such as Viktor Gyokeres and Liam Delap.
Football Insider reveled on 22 July that United are now interested in signing Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, who had been a key target for Arsenal.
Gyokeres’ arrival at the Emirates has seen their interest in Sesko cool, and potentially opened the door for United to swoop despite rival interest from Newcastle.
The Slovenia international reportedly has a release clause in his contract, but it would take an offer of over £70million to trigger it, leading to further uncertainty.
