Man United must 'do everything' to keep Cristiano Ronaldo after 'phenomenal' development - pundit
Erik ten Hag must make it a priority to keep Cristian Ronaldo at Man United this summer.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the attacker’s future.
The 37-year-old has scored 18 Premier League goals this term but has been blamed for Man United’s poor season due to a perceived lack of pressing.
This came after a source close to Man United told Football Insider (31 March) that the expectation at the top of the club is that Ronaldo will leave at the end of the season.
However, Kenny insists the Portugal star must be kept at the club for as long as possible.
“This is Ronaldo, he is still one of the best players in the world. Only Salah and Heung-Min Son have more league goals than him,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“People say Ronaldo is the problem, come on now. Where would they be without him?
“They would probably be in the bottom half of the league without those 18 goals.
“I think Erik ten Hag should do everything to keep him there next season.
“How do you replace him? Who can they sign to come in and guarantee 18 league goals?
“If he scores one more before the season is out then that’s a goal every two games, that’s a phenomenal record.
“They have to keep him, simple.”
Man United are next in action against Brighton on Saturday (7 May).
They then travel to Crystal Palace on the final day of the season (22 May).
