Agbonlahor issues Wan-Bissaka exit claim after Man United source’s £8.8m reveal
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Aaron Wan-Bissaka now has a future at Man United after his recent turnaround in form under Erik ten Hag.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 25-year-old has banished the “major concern” about his ability on the ball with his performances of late.
As per The Sun (24 December), Wan-Bissaka had been the subject of interest from Crystal Palace – with Wolves and West Ham also circling the right-back.
However, the former England Under-21 international has impressed in a run of starts since the World Cup break – including the 2-1 win over Man City on Saturday (14 January).
Wan-Bissaka is out of contract in June 2024 – with the Old Trafford side holding an option to extend his deal another 12 months.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (16 January) that Man United have joined Newcastle United and Arsenal in the chase to sign Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda – who has an £8.8million release clause.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I think Wan-Bissaka has a future.
“He went through a bad spell, and Dalot was doing really well. But recently he’s looked so good on the ball.
“That was the major concern about Wan-Bissaka. He’s been accused of not being good enough on the ball – but his first touch was good, he was making some nice turns.

“He looks like he’s up for the fight.
“But these clubs are sneaky. His value has gone up recently, and other clubs might be looking at him as the answer in the January window.”
