Man United news: Pundit can’t believe ‘big’ Thomas Tuchel reveal – ‘phwoar’
Manchester United would “be daft” not to try poach Thomas Tuchel away from Chelsea this summer, according to Kevin Phillips.
The former Sunderland striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 48-year-old must be near the top of the Red Devils’ shortlist of managerial candidates.
A Manchester United source told Football Insider earlier this month (11 March) that the club are to go “all out” to try and prise Tuchel from Stamford Bridge amid all the uncertainty surrounding the Blues.

As quoted by Sky Sports on Friday (18 March), Tuchel addressed the speculation head-on and revealed he has “plenty of reasons to stay” at Chelsea.
He insisted he “loves” the club and that it has “everything it needs to make me happy.”
However, Phillips backed United to make a move, regardless of Tuchel’s public stance.
Phillips told Football Insider’s Dylan Childs: “Phwoar. That’s a big call.
“I think there are so many options out there for Man United, whoever they decide to go for.
“With the situation at Chelsea now, if Manchester United have any opportunity or any sniff that they could get Tuchel in at Old Trafford, if there’s a chance I think you’d be daft not to do it.
“With his pedigree, with what he’s done and achieved, I think it would be a really good fit. Maybe they can take slight advantage with what’s going on at Chelsea.

“He’s certainly got to be on their list. Man United are one of the biggest clubs in the world. I’ve always said their next appointment has to be right.
“It has to be right to take them on their next journey to the next level to start competing.”
