Man United news: Pundit left in awe of Erik ten Hag after ‘behind the scenes’ reveal
Erik ten Hag is off to a flying start at Man United after already getting to work behind the scenes.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Dutchman’s preparations.
The Manchester Evening News reported on Monday (16 May) that Ten Hag, 52, has turned his attention to matters at Old Trafford after finishing the season with Ajax.

As quoted by The Athletic (20 May), Ralf Rangninck has also revealed he has been speaking to the incoming boss over Whatsapp.
McAvennie insists Ten Hag could not have gotten off to a better start.
“A lot of players have had their chance,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Other than Ronaldo and David de Gea, the jury is still out on the rest of them.
“I imagine that is what Ten Hag has been doing this week because that is the main job that needs to be done.
“Deciding which players can go is the most important thing. He will have been coming up with lists and speaking to people behind the scenes.
“This is all good news for Man United fans because it will take more than pre-season to sort all of this out.
“The season isn’t over yet and he’s hard at work, that makes a change at Man United.”

United could be competing in the Europa Conference League next season if they don’t beat Crystal Palace on the final day (22 May) and West Ham beat Brighton & Hove Albion.
If they are victorious over Palace, they will finish sixth and secure Europa League football.
