Man United news: Pundit shares ‘massive’ manager verdict as Thomas Tuchel stance revealed

Thomas Tuchel could “hit the ground running” at Man United if they can lure him away from Chelsea this summer, according to Kevin Campbell.

The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Stamford Bridge club will not let the “respected” 48-year-old leave without a “massive fight” – despite their current situation.

A Man United source told Football Insider last week (11 March) the club are set to “go all out” to lure Tuchel from Chelsea at the end of the season.

The Athletic updated yesterday (17 March) to claim the German would be “open” to hearing a “pitch” from the Old Trafford club.

Current boss Ralf Rangnick is set to move into a consultancy role when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Campbell claimed Tuchel is a “proven” coach and should be “right up there” in the reckoning for the Old Trafford hot seat.

“He’s proven himself in the Premier League and Champions League over the last year or so,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.

“His methods seem to be really effective both in-game and on the training pitch.

“With Chelsea, no one knows exactly what the future is going to bring.

“For Man United, he should be right up there on the list of targets. When you’re talking about someone who can come in and hit the ground running in this league – he’s the guy to do that, and that’s what they need.

“I’m sure Chelsea will be fighting tooth and nail even in their current situation.

He’s got the respect of the players and the fans right now.

“I don’t see them giving up without a massive fight.”
