Man United news: Pundit 'surprised' by journalist's Harry Maguire update - 'I'm fed up of this'
Paul Robinson is “surprised” to hear of Barcelona’s reported interest in Man United captain Harry Maguire.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the 29-year-old has “struggled” on the pitch since last summer’s Euros.
According to Andy Mitten, writing in The National News (27 June), Barcelona have enquired about the availability of the Maguire this summer.
The two clubs have been in negotiations over recent weeks with the Red Devils in advanced talks to sign Frenkie de Jong.
Maguire has three years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford.
Robinson believes Maguire and Raphael Varane will form a solid partnership under Erik ten Hag next season.

“Maguire’s form was indifferent last season,” he told Football Insider.
“His struggles at both club and international level have been well documented.
“I was surprised that he was linked with Barcelona. If you look at previous seasons and his performances in the Euros it makes more sense. Maguire has had a poor 12 months though.
“He has an opportunity under a new manager now though.
“I am fed up of the scrutiny of his captaincy. It doesn’t matter who wheres the armband. It should be irrelevant. Maguire is a leader. There is no value in taking the captaincy off of him.
“He just needs a fresh opportunity. It will help when Varane gets fully fit. I don’t think playing alongside [Victor] Lindelof helped him. It has been an unsettled back four.”
